The Mets selected Tobi in the 16th round (484th overall) of the 2006 amateur draft out of Davis and Elkins College in West Virginia. He had a spectacular debut season with the Brooklyn Cyclones, allowing less than a baserunner per inning. Tobi is a native of Oakland, MD but was born in Germany.
