Nick Evans

Nick Evans was selected out of St. Mary‘s High School in Phoenix, AZ with the Mets‘ 5th round selection in the 2004 amateur draft. Evans put up solid numbers and then broke out in the 2007 season as a midlle of lineup power hitter, hitting .286/.374/.476 and most impressive ly working 53 walks while only striking out 64 times in 378 ABs for St. Lucie who made it to the FSL playoffs. Evans was enjoying a solid 2008 season at Binghamton when he was promoted to the majors on May 24, 2008. He doubled in a run on his first major league pitch against Jeff Francis.
