The Mets designated Tobi Stoner and Jason Pridie from the 40 man roster to make room for yesterday’s signees Chris Young and Scott Hairston.

If not traded, both players would exposed to waivers.

The Mets selected Stoner in the 16th round (484th overall) of the 2006 amateur draft out of Davis and Elkins College in West Virginia. He posted a 4.04 in a 5 year career in the Mets minor league system, and made 5 appearances over the last two seasons for the Mets posting a 3.97 ERA.

The Mets claimed Pridie off waivers from the Minnesota Twins on February 9, 2010. He was originally drafted by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in the 2nd round of the 2002 amateur draft. He was traded to Minnesota in the deal sending Matt Garza to the Rays after the 2007 season. Pridie suffered thru an injury plagued 2010, appearing in only 44 games for Buffal0(AAA), putting up a .286/.342/.389 slash line.
