alonzo harris is due for a HR ... hopefully it comes tonight

i really dont know what to make of his power.. hes not a big guy at all.. but yet hes got 12 homers through 64 total minor league games in rookie ball.

I rather go with Jon Niese in the 2010 rotation instead of signing Jon Garland, Doug Davis, or Jarrod Washburn.

you say that repeatedly. Does that mean you would prefer essentially the same roster for 2010???

Who did you really want, with the team 6.5 out of the wild card and 7 teams in front of us?

hard to argue with that actually.. Davis should end up this team's future 1B if he keeps raking like he is.. F-Mart has had his name on an OF position for years.. I could see Tejada being the 2B too.

edit: well scratch out 2010 though... maybe 2011.

Essentially.

Then sink whatever money I don't spend on mediocre free agents into player development so that I'm not so enslaved by a weak market.

My system will be a year older next year, and if guys get hurt, I'll have better young players positioned to step in.

What I won't have are bad contracts or dead money...

I think I would have considered paying the price for Peavy.

The GCL Mets and GCL Nats were tied at 4 in the 10th inning when rain suspended play.

The skies could not have opened soon enough for Nelfi Zapata, who was 0 for 5 with the golden sombrero.

Charlie Hinojosa was 1 for 3 with a 2-run double, lowering his average to .400.

Javier Rodriguez was 2 for 5 with a steal.

Salvador Aguilar, coming off a disastrous outing, through 5 shutout frames - 3 hits, a walk, 3 Ks.

ok. wow. most of the prospects won't be ready to be everyday players until 2011 or 2012. beltran will likely be on his last legs (no pun intended), santana will likely be on the downside of his career and reyes and wright will need to be signed to big contracts at that time. But I guess you hardly follow the big club anyway, so it's not a big deal for you

Man that Javier Rodriguez was an awful pick, I know this because last year at 18 in limited ab's he sucked and that tells the story.

settle down there. the prev poster continuely states he wants to sign NO FA or trade any prospects at all. I'm not taking about this trade deadline, I was referring to the 2010 roster.
