The Mets 1 team finished 34-36 while the Mets 2 team finished off the season in last place in the Boca Chica North division with a record of 28-44.

a lot of players spent time on both the Mets 1 and Mets 2 roster throughout the year.

First well start with some guys who were on DSL rosters to start the year, but have since come stateside.

Rafael Montero: 20 year old SP, started out great in the DSL. 4 starts, 18 IP, 7 H, 2 R/ER, 0 BB: 20 K
He then moved on to the GCL where in 7 games (4 starts) he produced a 1.45 ERA, with 32 K and just 6 BB in 31 innings
That was good enough to bump him to Kingsport where he has since struggled, with a 6.00 ERA in 3 starts, where his usual good BB:K ratio now 6 BB:5 K in 12 innings

Luis Cessa: 19 year old who started the year starting games in the DSL. Toby Hyde recently called Cessa "an arm to watch" sitting in the low 90s hitting 94. In 5 starts for the DSL Mets, Cessa threw 21.1 IP, allowed 19 hits, 8 runs (6 earned), and had a 3 BB:23 K ratio
Cessa got brought up to the GCL Mets where he's made 9 appearances including 1 start. In those 9 games, hes pitched 29 innings, allowed 27 hits, 14 runs (12 earned), and has a BB:K ratio of 22:10.

Jorge Rivero: 22 year old infielder who started out playing all 4 IF positions for the Mets 2 this spring. He put up a .292 AVG with a .823 OPS.
A switch hitter, the 22 year old also went 10-13 swiping bags in the DSL. Since his promotion to the GCL Mets, hes gone 0-6. His new batting AVG in the states is .242 while playing mainly 2B and occasionally DH. Stateside, he has hit the only homer of his year, and also has 12 walks compared to 10 Ks. He is after all, a 22 year old in the GCL.

Those are the guys that made it stateside so far, here are some intriguing arms who might be on US rosters in 2012.

Luis Mateo, 21, SP
The big international FA came to the DSL Mets this year and started 13 games. He went 6-1, and in 63 IP hes struck out 80 and walked just 5.

Persio Reyes, 18, SP
Reyes started 14 games between both the Mets 1 and Mets 2 teams. He won 4 games while keeping his ERA under 2 (1.95) and his WHIP under 1 (.98)

Luis Rengal, 21, SP
Rengal is in his 3rd year with the organization, Rengal followed up a good 2010 with a good 2011. In 15 games (9 starts) he posted a 1.48 ERA, and only walked 1.8 per 9 innings

Andres E Perez, 20, SP
Andres, also in his 3rd year for the Mets foreign rookie teams, pitched in 17 games and started 9. His ERA was 2.04 for the year, and in 61.2 innings he allowed only 46 hits while striking out 66.

Ramon Estevez, 20, RP
In 15 games for the year, including 2 starts, Estevez allowed 43 hits in 52 innings and struck out 61 batters. It was his 2nd year in the organization

As far as position players in the DSL, there were a few bright spots, mainly in the outfield

Alvin Maracaro, 18, 2B
The teenager hit .298 for the Mets 1, but didn't have a lot of power with only 6 XBH in 121 AB, and no homers. He made 5 errors in 92 chances at 2B but also saw time in LF and RF

Yexion Ruiz, 20, 2B/3B
Ruiz hit only .245 after hitting .260 last year. The speedy infielder was 20-25 on SB attempts.

Elvis Sanchez, 17, 3B
Disappointing year for Sanchez in his debut, hitting just .157 with 3 bombs. In 198 ABs, he walked 62 times, and struck out 73. Almost 37% of ABs, he strikes out.

Pedro Perez, 16, 3B
Less heralded international signee Perez, outshined Sanchez while playing 3rd in the DSL. As a 16 year old he hit .262, hit 2 homers, drove in 38 runs, stole 15 bags, and scored 26 times. He could cut down on his Ks (47 in 210 ABs) but for now hes interesting with a good 16 year old debut season

Alfredo Reyes, 17, SS
The other big signee also didnt have a great debut season. In 52 games at short he hit .191, with 4 XBH (2 2B, 3B, HR) in 188 ABs. He also didnt have a great year with the glove, committing 24 errors at short in 52 games.

Maikis De La Cruz, 20, OF
.321/.389/.400 line for Maikis included 33 SB and 40 runs scored while usually leading off for both teams

Michael Bernal, 19, OF
After a bad year as an 18 year old in the DSL, Bernal exploded this year. Hit .274 with a .903 OPS. Slugged 11......11! bombs, drove in 36 runs while scoring 44. He also hit 5 3Bs and stole 17 bases

Eris Peguero, 21, OF
Peguero had a .308/.376/.392 line with a homer, 4 3Bs, and 20 RBIs. He stole 30 bags and had 3 outfield assists while playing mainly CF and LF.

Joan Decena, 19, OF
In his 3rd year with the Mets Org, Decena hit .264 with 3 homers and 30 RBIs. While playing mainly RF for the Mets 1 squad, he had 8 OF assists.

thanks for posting this ... i don't know much about the DSL prospects and you gave us a nice run down of kids to pay attention to.

I'm wondering if Luis Mateo is another candidate for Savannah? He certainly seems to be pretty advanced and polished with that k/bb rate ...and at age 21, LOW A is more age appropriate for him..

Or perhaps Brooklyn? they sometimes like to throw in an advanced INTL kid in the mix
