If you get 4 or 5 major league players out of a draft you're doing well.

4 or 5 major leaguers, who actually have careers in the majors and not just cups of coffee, would be an outstanding draft. However, 5 guys from the previous draft are not usually out of the organization before a full-season in the system. It is likely a product of no GCL team and probably why we saw so few college seniors taken this draft.

Sneider Batista, Kenny McDowall, Ramiro Peralta, Brian Valenzuela, and 2 big(ger) names, Scott Moviel and Chad Sheppard have been released.

Scott Moviel. Another great retort when someone tries to argue that Omar Minaya was unappreciated.

McDowall and Sheppard specifically had talent. Injuries suck.

It could also be the inevitable previous administration clean-up. Obviously, you keep talent, but get rid of the chaff that does not fit the new mold.

You're right.

It's tough to be a GM when your players get hurt.

Thanks.

I have the following signed players from the 2010 draft no longer in the organization:
Ken McDowall
J.B. Brown
Tillman Pugh
Chad Sheppard
A.J. Pinera (an assumption with his not being on any team's roster or DL last season)
Jonathan Kountis
Lucas Stewart
Jet Butler
Todd Weldon
Steve Winnick
Patrick Farrell
Justin Schafer
Dylan Brown
Donnie Tabb
