Pants should move up before the end of the season too. He, DeGrom and Tapia should anchor the St. Lucie rotation in early 2013. Assume that Pill and Verrett get pushed up to Bingo to join Mazzoni and a repeating Gorski there.

Does Carpenter have any upside except for the fact that in May he has an excellent chance of turning 28?

Drew Carpenter looks like a perfectly fine guy to have in case of injury to ride the shuttle.

Problem is that describes most of the relief arms at the upper levels/majors (at best).
