I said he could be a thorn in the Mets side but not a star and you said "meh" which implies you disagreed with a pretty benign statement yes?
Meh as in I'm not as high on him as some, and as in I don't necessarily see a player of his caliber as being a true annoyance. It's usually the Chipper Jones', Shane Victorino's, etc. level players that I consider to be annoying Met killers.
I can see what you're saying though, he's going to be one of those pesky Jeff Keppinger-esque guys who aren't all that great but will probably be high average hitters who will come up with big/clutch hits more often than not. Sure.

Rule 5 pick Rhiner Cruz failed to retire any of the five Braves he faced in a loss Monday.
One batter did reach on an error, but Cruz allowed two hits and walked two. He was charged with four runs, three of which were earned. Cruz was the first overall pick in December's Rule 5 draft, but the former Mets farmhand has little working in his favor outside of a big fastball. The Astros have little to lose by stashing him in their pen anyway, but he's a real long shot to develop.

2011 first-round pick Brandon Nimmo will play in Tuesday's home split-squad game. "I like to play those guys," Collins said. "I want those minor league players, when they walk out of this camp, to walk back over there and say, 'That was fun. That was really fun. How do I get back over there to stay?'"
• Collins went and saw top prospect Zack Wheeler, who is in minor league camp, throw on the minor league side. Asked what he liked, Collins whistled and said: "Everything."
• 2010 first-round pick Matt Harvey is the first pitcher due in after starter Dillon Gee tonight. Collins said he is looking for command. "If he throws the ball over the plate," the manager said, "he'll get people out. He's got that kind of stuff."
• Ike Davis is slated for three innings at first base tonight, and three more tomorrow, Collins said.
• Collins said he is not very concerned about seeing how his starters look together tonight, such as Ruben Tejada and Daniel Murphy working as a tag team in the middle infield.
"Not tonight," Collins said. "It's our first game. I think it's nice to have the fans see who we've got. Obviously David [Wright] is not going to be in the lineup, but Jason [Bay] is and Ike is and [Lucas] Duda and everybody else. And Justin Turner had as big a part last year in us playing well as anybody. So I feel real comfortable with him in there."

Looks like we could be in for a long season of "great fun in the clubhouse despite record" articles (that eventually turn into stories about how TC doesn't have control of the team)!

This has probably been mentioned before, but does anyone else think Wheeler's motion is kind of like "Lincecum Lite"?
He's got the glove drop out of the windup, but other than that, I don't see it at all. If you want to see Lincecum Lite though, Trevor Bauer is pretty spot on with that.

Bauer, Collmenter and Joe Ross all do the Lincecum. The video is just at a side angle. His delivery isn't that similar other than the aforementioned "glove drop".
