#humblebrag?

If Zimmerman had the same exact issue, that would've been in his one-pack?

If Wright is forced to miss some time, which he very well could given that this is apparently the same injury that Zimmerman had, that would really be devastating. Guys like Turner, Cedeno, Rottino, or Satin could fill in at the position but none of them are good enough to hold down the fort. They could plug in Lutz, but I don't know how much I trust him staying healthy or hitting, and it's not like defense is his acumen either.

You know who has plenty of 3B experience?

They could play Murphy at 3B and Turner at 2B.

That's still replacing Wright's bat with Turner's

What else could they do?

Call up Valdespin and play him at 2B?

I don't think it'll really matter. Zimmerman's injury was re-aggravated because he tried to come back too soon. Wright hasn't played in a few weeks and is being conservative with his. I still think he'll be ready on OD.

That's no different than Murphy at 2B and Turner at 3B, really.

I also don't see them shifting Murphy around with him learning 2B.

Yeah, may as well stay with Murph at second to see how this works out.

The difference between Wright and Zimmerman is Zimmerman had the injury in spring training and played with it. Then he aggravated it early in the season. The Mets are doing the right thing waiting until there is no discomfort. Zimmerman's case is the worst case scenario. Where he had to have surgery and miss 6 weeks.

Nick Markakis also had the same injury late last year and ended up having surgery in the offseason.

But these things vary on a case by case basis...especially muscle injuries. Sometimes it takes months, other times guys are fine within a few days.
