Most relievers including closers are a crap shot. Francisco is looking terrible. He can not get by with only a fastball. He needs to throw the splitter and curve for strikes to be successful. When he is only throwing the fastball, hitters are going to sit on it and he will get hit hard like today. For now I would use Parnell as the closer. But, I think Collins will give the closer role to Rauch.
While I'm not against Parnell as closer, Francisco hasn't imploded like Heath Bell...I think he's had closer stuff most of the times I've seen him pitch this year. If Parnell can harness his stuff, however, no doubt he could be a lights out guy.
