The good news is that Niese is pwning McCann today. 2 K's in 2 AB's.

Niese, Davis and Duda are probably the only three Mets who I expect will produce significantly more this year than they did last year. You could also throw Torres in there after his off year in San Fran.

I'd throw Wright in there too, if he's healthy. He's not the same hitter he was 2005-2008, but he still produced weighted on base averages (wOBA) of .368 and .364 wOBA in 2009 and 2010, respectively. Last season that dropped more than .020 points.

AdamRubinESPN Mike Baxter 2-for-2 today with walk. Hitting .343 this spring. Just had two-run single to make it 4-4. Not Adam Loewen's job perhaps. 3 minutes ago · reply · retweet · favorite

Supposedly if Byrdak looks like he's going to be back sooner vs. later they are leaning toward Olson vs. Edgin and if it's going to be longer they may go with Edgin. Not sure I understand the rationale there but ok.

Yeah lets cut someone off our 40 man for 2 weeks of Garrett Olson. Cool.

I interpret this to mean that if he's only going to miss a little time, they'll bite the bullet with a crappy pitcher for a brief while until Byrdak returns, and let Edgin develop a bit more in the high minors, but if he's going to be gone a while, they'll let Edgin develop in the bigs instead.
