Torres lines a single to right, then Murphy dubs one up the 3B line for an infield hit.

Now, Wright singles down the RF line to score Torres. Murphy easily to third.

This obviously isn't the Yankees best lineup, but Pelf just sat down quality MLB hitters in the first. He's been pitching well since the front office rumors started bubbling. That can change, but nice results in the 1st and he's throwing 94.

Well, I don't think its the difference between "ace" and "back end guy", nor is it some great unlocking of something we've never seen, but Pelf throwing 94 > Pelf throwing 89, even if just for viewing aesthetics.

Agreed. Just trying not to get rope-a-doped into being optimistic about his season. Been burned about seven too many times. He's firmly in "Show Me" territory.

After an Ike sac fly, Bay lines what is perhaps his hardest hit ball of the spring. Clean single to left.

Duda smokes a single to RF, Wright scores, but Bay is a dead duck for some reason trying to go 1st to 3rd on an extremely hard hit ball.

I'm sure Yankees fans are frightened about the start of the season.

At least Pelf's velocity looks good; watching the YES feed, he's been 92-94 this inning.

Just hit 96.

After Tejada lined to right, Nova hit Torres on the foot and then Murphy ripped a double down the RF line to score Torres.

4-0 Mets

And just like that, Pelfrey is better than Nova (if you use the predictive spring ERA as a measure of who is better).
