19 pitch inning for Niese, gave up 2 hits and fanned one. Bill Hall doinked one off the end of the bat and then Bernier barreled one back up the middle.

Needs more advertisements, I think.

Can't fit much more there, but they can probably sell the rights to a retired number.

"That ball's headed over the Heinz Homerun Nook, where they've ceremoniously retired the number 57 to represent the 57 varieties of Heinz products."

Hardly even call that section a "blue" wall, no?

Gary makes a good point. The Mets aren't holding a workout day at Citi Field before Opening Day. With the new outfield configuration, you have to think that was oversight.

I usually don't get on the amount of advertising, but the LF wall is ABSURD.

You spend an entire offseason chronicling the new blue wall the fans wanted, and you cover almost the ENTIRE wall in ads. Ridiculous.

Scott Hairston having the most un-2011 ST he could have possibly had.

Hopefully that means he has the most un-2011 April he could possibly have.

It's about the same amount of advertising as last year, but with the fence being marginally smaller it looks a lot worse.

Yep.

And the fact that the "358" on the new wall looks like it was pasted between the ads, not the other way around.

Mets needed to get some income somewhere. Guess they decided ad space was the answer.

Niese is getting battered here. Swisher with an opposite field double, Chavez hits one back through the box, and now Jones ropes a single to center.

Niese picks off the pinch-runner at 2B, but he's called safe.

Now Nunez lines out to Murphy and he tries to double off the runner at 1st when the better play was to 2nd.

Gary Cohen just said Niese's ERA was high last year but his peripherals were very strong.

TRUESABR.

Cervelli gets badly jammed but is able to fist it over short for a bloop single.

Now Niese plunks Wise in the back to force in a run.

Disaster scenario here.
