Only going with official info here. The Binghamton paper ran a preview column yesterday and gave some confirmed names and says the official roster should come out today.
-Marte is the guy who gets skipped up, not Flores. I'm not sure that means they're higher on Marte though - could be a case of caring less about "proper development" with him. Of course, could be they were really impressed with his strong AFL showing, too.
-Centeno is the 2nd catcher, which I hope means more of a tandem than a starter/backup arrangement like I had thought with Gronaeuer and JLB. To be honest, I had forgot about Centeno. I bet JLB goes to extended now. Probably Pena too, unless he's going to be the 3rd St. Lucie catcher? I wouldn't play Pena over either of the Savannah duo from last year.
-Reyes and Lagares both return to Bingo, along with a promotion for Zapata. No Ratliff, I would assume, at least to start.

Interesting. In a time when the Mets seem to be pretty cautious with roster assignments, it's Jefry Marte who gets the bump up to Binghamton. I guess their hand could have been forced with Wilmer's impending move to 3B, but his .659 OPS in St. Lucie last year doesn't exactly scream promotion.
I'm glad they're keeping Lagares at Double-A and a bit surprised Puello is starting in St. Lucie.

I have no idea if he can become a contributor to the ML roster at some point, but don't understand the purpose of keeping Allen Dykstra in AA for another year, especially since he finished with a .864 OPS for Bingo last year.

B.G.A Bay Go Away!!!-- DISCOUNT DOUBLE CHECK!!!!!!!!!!!
N.M.N. NO MORE NICKEAS!!!!
Now if we can only get rid of the Wilpons and replaced them with Mark Cuban the STO master plan can be complete!
I wonder where Francisco Pena ends up in all of this. Gotta imagine the St. Lucie catching duo is Cordero and Forsythe. In Savannah it'll be Maron and (probably) Carrillo. I guess he becomes the new Blaquiere; the org depth catcher who bounces around everywhere when injuries and whatnot occur.

Blaquiere might have something to say about being the new (old) Blaquiere, too. He was definitely still in camp.
Either way, looks like we've finally moved on from giving Pena ABs that should be going to those we're not quite yet sure are hapless, thankfully.

Just want to go on record (not that I'm anyone important) saying that it is a complete and utter travesty that Wilmer is repeating St. Lucie. The kid knocked in 81 runs as a 19-year old in a pitcher's league. Let him learn 3b at Bingo. It's stuff like this that can really ruin a kid's psyche, imo. Terrible job by Depo and Mets brass.

He hit .269/.309/.380 and was the 2nd youngest position players in the league. Sorry, but I don't understand how that screams promotion whatsoever, especially when he'll be trying to learn a new position. Evaluating any hitter through the lens of RBI is totally misguided.
