I wouldn't be SHOCKED if Stinson got claimed, with 3 full years of options remaining and a mid-90's heater, but I don't even know if he's on my top 5 list of "minor league relievers" I'm interested in seeing if the need arises, and its not like we're flush with those types to begin with. No big deal to me.
Arm-Rod, with only 2 years of options remaining and being, at this point, nowhere close to ready to contribute anytime soon, I would consider almost 0 chance he gets claimed.
I'm not saying he won't get claimed, but Stinson is totally one of those guys we would have zero interest in if he was put on waivers by another team; the numbers in the upper-minors are pretty ugly. The only real appeal is the fastball.

Stinson though can be one of those guys who can get called up for small stretches when you need an extra reliever through the season with his fastball, I think he gets claimed.

Why does Stinson have 3 option years remaining? I thought they were both added to protect them from the same December 2010 Rule V Draft.

He has 2 option years left. You have it right - he was added in November 2010 and then optioned to the minors last year (thus burning an option). Same as Arm-Rod.
These [minor league] rosters will clearly undergo more changes. Why? How about the 30 guys (include 15 pitchers) assigned to St. Lucie? Or the 28 guys listed as active for Savannah? The timestamp on the article is near midnight.A mere 12 hours later, they’re already out of date. For example, there’s no Danny Herrerera in AAA. Now Rodriguez and Stinson will have to wait for their waivers to clear before they can pitch again.

I'm not complaining at all.
But I have to say, though, that the Stinson thing strikes me as being a bit odd.
His promotion, based on his minor league performance was odd, too. But once he came up, you could see he has a live arm and I assumed that the different roles between how he was used in the minors and then in the majors accounted for some of the difference in results (a reliever is exposed to the hitters less than a starter).
They used him pretty extensively (14 games) in the bigs, which gave the impression he might have a future role.
Admittedly, he had some rough outings, but it seems odd to me that he'd go from heavily-used callup to being dropped from the 40-man in the course of an offseason plus a spring training.
