I think it means they're more likely to value winning at Buffalo right now over pushing/challenging a prospect.
As I looked at Buffalo's roster and realized Scales and Tui, while neither a prospect, could stand to gain some PT here if a non-starter was promoted, and both of those guys at least have some track record of AAA success that would likely be greater than either MDD or Lagares' in AAA right away (or at least a higher probability of it), I thought maybe they'd just give those guys time rather than a true prospect to replace Kirk.
I'd bet on some sort of rotation now with maybe Valdy logging some CF and Scales at 2B, as well as some Tui in a corner with Loewen shifting over to CF. Reyes probably figures in there somewhere, too, but I don't get the impression they think he's a real prospect.
I guess that Campbell sees some time in the Bingo OF now.
