Braddock has a big arm, but he had problems with a sleep disorder last year and has also dealt with personal issues. Still, as a lefty that throws in the mid-90s, someone will be willing to take a chance on him.

They've been extremely cryptic about what his issues are. They listed him missing time last year with a "sleep disorder", which sounds fishy enough as is, as well as "other personal issues" which they won't/haven't disclosed and he doesn't talk to the media.

You don't want to speculate, but I think its more than simply getting his meds straightened out. He hasn't even pitched this year and he came to camp throwing in the mid-80's IIRC.

Gotta believe he would have been suspended had he been doing illegal drugs no?

Yeah who knows what it is. Like I said, you don't want to speculate but they've been completely silent on it. But there are certainly issues there beyond oversleeping.

The White Sox have removed Chris Sale from the rotation and placed him in the closer's role.

Sale has a slightly tender elbow, so the Sox are taking him off a starter's workload. They are, however, emphasizing that he's not "hurt." Sale will be available to close beginning Monday, meaning Hector Santiago and Matt Thornton are out as save candidates. Sale was impressive as a starter this season, going 3-1 with a 2.81 ERA and 1.00 WHIP in his five outings. The Sox say the move has been made to preserve his career.

I think he'll be a dominant reliever, but that's disappointing to here. I guess the people who pegged him as a future reliever because his arm wouldn't hold up over a starter's workload may be right.

That's the "Ying" to Batista's "Yang."

They take their best young SP and make him a RP, we take our worst old RP and make him a SP.

Not that we have a viable replacement (heck, I'd see if Valdespin is ready), but are Milwaukee, San Fran and Tampa possible landing spots for Daniel Murphy?

Might be able to pry a pitcher out of Tampa...

Marlins still prevailed but Heath Bell blew another save last night. This is so fun.

It's a waste tho when they win.

While he's nowhere near elite, he'd plenty better than this so you want to make sure he's sinking the ship as much as he can right now before the inevitable reliever fluctuation kicks in.

If Jon Rauch can run an 11 appearance scoreless streak on the strength of at-em balls, literally anyone can.

The Marlins sent down Mike Dunn. I would think he still factors into their plans. If not, how bout a good ole fashioned trade to get him?

Aaron Cook got lit up for 6 earned runs in 2.2 IP today. Sox are trailing 8-0 and look well on their way to 11-15.

Saber-favorite of mine Jason Hammel has been awesome to start the season.

Not surprisingly, the reports of Aaron Cook's velocity from his minor league stint were overblown. 87-90, not 92 as reported.
