I wouldn't do that. Career .590 OPS career.
At least Nickeas is the devil you know...
Beats the gunk out of Nickeas's career .489 OPS. On a serious note, if you are looking for defense from your backup primarily, at least Quintero has never posted a negative WAR defensively. His last two years was 1.2 and 1.2. Nickeas last year was only .2 and is negative this year. Again, not a huge upgrade by any stretch of the imagination, but an upgrade nonetheless.
Yeah, it's not the kind of upgrade that would preclude me from upgrading the position further, but I'd take him if he costs nothing.

Coutinho is on a Twitter binge. Five tweets in less than 15 minutes on a range of topics from baseball to politics to his reporting philosophy to Jimmy V. Time for some decaf.

When I read his tweets, I ask myself, how can this guy write for a living? His tweets read like the rambling of a schizophrenic mind.

Injury or trade?

Carlos Quentin was scratched from Monday's lineup.
No word on whether his absence is injury-related. We wouldn't rule it out considering his history, but he is also one of the biggest bats on the trade market. Alexi Amarista is making the start in left field Monday while Logan Forsythe will play second base.

Buster Olney reports that if the Marlins sell, they could firesale...perhaps even discussing Stanton and Johnson.
Remind me why this team is allowed to operate?
