Love the Fred Lewis pickup

Always thought he could be a decent player given the opportunity

Also, really like the Fred Lewis pickup. Sandy has done a nice job with some of these depth pieces.

Nice on Fred Lewis. But I don't expect much.

I expect nothing from Emaus.

Great news for Buffalo.

But inevitably not so great news for the New York Mets.

GREAT! I always thought they gave up on Emaus way too soon

Love it. Why not.

However, the potential bad news here is that, as I mentioned in the IGT, Bobby Scales rounded 3rd on a double really awkwardly and was wincing as he came into the dugout after. He stayed in for a few more innings but then came out for the last few. Could be an injury. Also, I assume Adam Loewen is down for a while.

Dustin Martin was apparently signed for AA initially so I assume he goes down there now.

As far as these moves: Brad Emaus did his usual thing last year and smoke minor league pitching. Obviously it didn't translate last year in the majors, but you think if he ever WAS able to remotely resemble the hitter he is in the minors, he'd fit the "really a 2B, but masquerading as the backup 3B/1B" guy better than Turner because of the better patience/power he would provide. Would be weird if they eventually flipflopped last year given how last year went. In any event, doesn't hurt to bring in a proven AAA performer for Buffalo.

Fred Lewis is a name I threw out in the ST notes thread when the Indians released him. Have to think if he shows anything, theres a good chance he would and should replace Mike Baxter. He was a pretty useful little player against RHP for a few years until last year's disaster season for him. In fact, IIRC, we were heavily chasing him last offseason for our backup LHH OF role that eventually went to Wee Willie, right? I expect to see Fred in Queens int he not-too-distint future.

Lots of bodies in Buffalo though. Assume a few DL stints are coming.

Love that we're going to see Emaus in AAA *not in the PCL*!

I am all for Mets hilarity in 2012 and these guys fit the bill nicely.

I like the Emaus move.

He wasn't impressive when he was here, but that's a small window.

Now, there's a chance for him to get his feet on the ground in Buffalo and show some of the stuff he's shown in other stops without the pressure of produce instantly or be waived.

I'm guessing the Buffalo roster will look like this once these players are added to the roster:

C: Johnson
1B: Satin
2B: Scales
SS: Quintanilla
3B: Emaus
OF: Rottino
OF: Reyes
OF: Lewis
DH: Pascucci

Bench: Fisher, Martin, Tuiasosopo, May

Rotation: Harvey, Familia, Olson, Hefner, Owen

Bullpen: Edgin, Cabrera, Stevens, Holt, James, Hampson, Egbert

To make room for Emaus and Lewis I would assume they send Blaquiere back into nowhere world and Loewen to the DL. They could use someone else like McHugh as the 5th starter but I'd just assume Owen is that guy right now.

Las Vegas and Colorado Springs! No question he's proven all he can in zero-g environments.
