Bobby Scales is playing, so whatever that wince/pull from game was, it appears to be a non-issue.

Neither Emaus nor Lewis (nor Martin) are playing, and I would assume there is probably some "on the side" work they'll be getting over the next few weeks since it doesn't appear any of them have played since ST (and I believe Lewis was hurt most of ST, which was a contributing factor to him being cut, and it doesn't appear Emaus received an invite to Sox camp).

Lineup:

Torres CF
Scales 2B
Pascucci DH
Satin 1B
Rottino LF
Tui 3B
Reyes RF
May C
Quintanilla SS

Familia P

Anyone have any clue how long a foot stress fracture typically takes to heal enough to play baseball?

I believe this was the Brook Lopez injury, but I have to think basketball (and 7 footers) are not the best analogy here.

Just wondering on Loewen - for some reason I initially thought "OK, no big deal" when I heard that diagnosis but now I'm thinking thats actually something very major. Tough run for him: from being almost guaranteed a roster spot, to playing your way out of it in ST, to starting off terrible, to getting red hot while Baxter scuffles and now out for a while, and watch the team sign 2 guys who've had varying degrees of AAA (or beyond) success behind you in Martin and Lewis, meaning you're no longer guaranteed to be the primary alternative to Baxter even upon return.

Timing is good for this one; Buffalo game at 6pm ET, Mets' game at 8:40pm ET. Plenty of enough time to watch Familia on MiLB.tv.

Check out the Mets lineup. It'll be like watching a Buffalo doubleheader.

I'm actually happy to see Ike is sitting for Lutz, but that's just me. Hairston should be in there too. Nickeas is the only "bleh".

Nickeas playing every 5 or 6 games is just a reality we'll have to deal with.

I could use less Hairston in my life, though. I forget how much I don't enjoy him this past offseason. I would rather watch Valdespin swinging out of his shoes tonight since I missed out on that fun yesterday.

But yeah, I like Lutz playing tonight.

Familia seems to be throwing with good velocity per the announcers (no velocity shown on the score bug) but his control is off. His lone strikeout that inning came on a fastball.
