Would love to see Lagares go on a nice little streak to show that last year wasn't a fluke
Lagares will be fine. Last year WAS something of a fluke. His BABIP gave him a highly inflated BA but he's walking more this year and he'll be fine. I think he's a 4th OF.

Hope you're right. He's been historically pretty underwhelming, and he came in with a fair amount of under-the-radar hype

His BABIP was like .450 last year, lol.
As long as he continues to walk at this pace, he'll be fine. I'm more impressed this year with him, tbh. What's that, 11, 12 walks now? More then he's had in some FULL seasons (90+ games).

MORE impressed is overstating things. He's slugging .359, last year he slugged .500

As Toby pointed out this morning in his blog, Lagares started out slow last year too. He's at .256/.348./359 this year, while last April he was .262/.314/.369. He's already set a new career-high in walks, which is a tremendous sign. That alone can make up for the expected drop in BABIP, to a certain extent. As long as he keeps getting those extra base hits.
