Murphy .283 .333 .343 .677 --early and small sample, but he'll have to hit much better to justify the glove, which although not as horrendous as I thought, is still enough to project at 35 errors this year.
He's always hit for power in the past, he's bound to start getting some doubles soon.
My concern would actually be that the spread between average and OBP is not what it should be for a second or third place hitter. I like to see him aggressive at the plate, but in his spot in the lineup, either power or OBP should probably prevail.

I think Murphy will settle in with something around career his slash line of .291/.342/.432, maybe slightly worse. ZiPS seems to agree, as their updated projections (which take into account season performance to date) have him projected to finish the season with a .285/.335/.400 line.

His career spread is .49 and he's at .50 as of right now. Last year it was only .42. I think what you see is what you get when it comes to Murph's OBP spread. The problem with his production is that he only has six extra base hits, all doubles.

Mets general manager Sandy Alderson told Andy Martino of the New York Daily News that the club has no immediate plans to promote right-hander Matt Harvey to serve as the fifth starter. The Mets have a clear need for a fifth starter now that Mike Pelfrey will miss the rest of the season following Tommy John surgery, but Alderson said that how Chris Schwinden is pitching (11.25 ERA in two starts) will have no impact on Harvey's timeline. "When we bring him up, we hope to do so and not have to send him back," said Alderson. "This is not about filling an immediate need. This is about the long-term stability of the organization and the team." Harvey, 23, has a 4.80 ERA and 27/13 K/BB ratio in 30 innings over his first six starts with Triple-A Buffalo this season. Baseball America ranked him as the organization's No. 2 prospect during the offseason. Related: Mike Pelfrey, Chris Schwinden Source: New York Daily News May 3 - 8:39 PM
