I agree, but it's going to be tough for SandyCo to trade these guys if things stay near where they are. #TwoWildCards

Batista starts again, per TC.

Pretty sure Manny Acosta, not Miguel Batista, earned him that right. Those 2 inherited runs score, Philly goes on to an easy win, likely a different story. And Batista would have done nothing different.

Oh well, just gotta make sure we're ready to come back from another 4 run immediate deficit and score 7 in 5 days.

Home vs the Brew Crew on Monday.

Batista is a joke.

A complete, utter joke.

The Mets are forfeiting every 5th day.

Weeeee. I love the first inning give up. Can we just watch the games and not surrender immediately?

Turning game off. Absolutely disgraceful that we have to be subjected to this nonsense every 5th day.

Bummer for you

Yeah - surprising, but fun to watch so far. I love the fact that there's an element of underdog from the manager (who I'm a huge fan of, btw) on down to this team...

Carlos Beltran has 2 homers tonight, one of which was a grand slam. Now up to a .994 OPS on the season.

Man, I love Carlos.

Just got home and decided to read the IGT all the way through. Quite a read.

08:14 AM ET 05.08 | Welcome to MLB's newest rivalry, the Nationals and Phillies, sparked by Cole Hamels, stoked by Mike Rizzo and Jayson Werth. [Werth] underwent surgery on his broken left wrist Monday at the Mayo Clinic. He will begin strengthening exercises within six weeks, the Nationals announced. ... In an e-mail to the Post, Werth said Phillies fans in right field at Nationals Park taunted him as he walked off the field Sunday night. And he will remember them during his rehab. "After walking off the field feeling nauseous knowing my wrist was broke and hearing Philly fans yelling 'You deserve it,' and, 'That's what you get,' I am motivated to get back quickly and see to it personally those people never walk down Broad Street in celebration again," Werth wrote.

Welcome to the party, Washington.

I know it's only two appearances, but i'm glad to see Acosta bouncing back. I never thought he was that bad, so hopefully he is turning it around.

I completely agree. Starting the season 4-0 was a boon, but it is also the high water mark so far. If they can get to 5 over. And then reach for 10 over ... 1 step at a time. If they go into Phillie,, sweep a series on the road against a division opponent, go to 5 games over ... can't ask for anything more than that.
