Toby sure made it sound like Taijeron is headed to St. Lucie this week.

Looks like its just a performance thing. He was "pushed" to Brooklyn "ahead" of someone like Morris because they probably valued getting Morris starts and didn't care as much about Urbina and he was more tenured than those going to the pen in KPort.

Toby notes it'll be a 6 man rotation in Brooklyn (and there will be the same in KPort, presumably), so Urbina couldn't crack the top 12 starters in Extended this year. Sad.

Ynoa goes tonight, following by Dueling Luis' (Mateo and Cessa) and then Julian Hilario. He doesn't disclose the other 2 starters.

Just by guesses, I think Rainy Lara (he mentioned Urbina scheduled to go "after Lara" on Saturday) and Brandon Welch, but those are just guesses. They may elect to go relief only with the recently-drafted arms (they also have college starters Sewald and Bowman there) as they did last year for the most part, which opens up a rotation spot.

I'll be at the game tonight. Disappointed I'll be seeing Ynoa, wanted to see Mateo but some other time.

Edit- Opening day in BK for a kid who just turned 19. Interesting choice. He sounds like a potential Montero 128.1 innings.... 12 walks 62 k's

Is anyone remotely excited about Ynoa? Just curious.

Not yet, but he's only 19, showed excellent control last year, and he's at least interesting enough to the org considering that he's in the Brooklyn rotation.

Not yet, but he's only 19, showed excellent control last year, and I'm sure there is a reason he's in the Brooklyn rotation.

...and starting Opening Day, which is usually reserved for more of a polished guy who they know won't embarrass themselves out there.

Maybe thats not the best endorsement in the world, but to be 19 and trusted as "polished" is probably something to keep an eye on.
