So I went to the game tonight, sat 6th row behind home plate. My ridiculously early initial thoughts (I'll be posting a few horribly shot videos as soon as I figure out how)
1. Briefly spoke to Brandon Nimmo... he's very tall and still very thin. Seemed like a nice kid. Swung at 1 bat pitch in the dirt but in general seemed to have a good idea at the plate.
2. Evans... smooth as can be nice level swing. Drove one with some decent authority. Very short but pretty stocky.
3. Ynoa... I was very impressed. I imagine he's what Rafael Montero looked like at 19. Pounded the strike zone. No idea on velocity but noticeably more pop than the Yankees starter. Threw a few impressive breaking balls but seemed mostly FB. Never would have guessed he's only 19.
4. Frenzel is a big guy and took some good hacks. Looked like he had a granny but the wind knocked it down and was caught just before the wall.
5. Sabol... very impressive physical specimen. Big guy, made an amazing catch in LF. Nice swing. I think he could emerge as one of the more interesting guys in the system.
6. Sanchez- MASSIVE human being
7. Vanderheiden... As I suspected, I think this kid is going to be a sleeper if used in the right way. Looked like very solid velocity from a side armer and threw at least 2 impressive sliders.

Dimas Ponce is RAIL thin and I couldn't tell whose fault it was but he was out by a MILE at 3b. Great throw but he shouldn't have been sent to third on the hit.

thanks for the good stuff metro. I saw the Vander guy with 2 ks in the ninth and i thought...LeatherRocket 2.0?? lol
More realistically Joe Smith 2.0 but yeah he threw strikes and had a funky delivery. I don't have a gun so I'm going by swings, pop of the mitt etc but he looked at the very least upper 80's which is more than enough from a funky reliever. Pumped his first when he recorded the third out. Looked very excited.

Great stuff! I guess you could put the videos on YouTube and then post them here (this board does have the YouTube tags for embedding videos after all, which is cool).
I'm sure we'll also enjoy your home-made wrestling promo too.

Yeah I'll do that. Thanks Nmig. The videos may be horrible, my phone was dying but when the bases were loaded I decided to film it just in case something good happened lol
