Again, the struggles confound me. The breaking ball looks actually very good. Don't see much of a change being used in the pen but thats not necessarily needed with the breaking ball and cutter working.
Maybe the movement on the FB just isn't the same as it was? Thats a tough thing to pick up from a slightly-off-center CF camera angle. Thats obviously what made him special in the first place so who knows. Just doesn't make sense how nobody is off-balance seemingly against him. Also: his control is definitely moving backwards in each subsequent outing, but I assume thats a chicken-egg thing: probably some lost confidence, leading to worse control, which leads to worse innings and less confidence, etc.

It's a really small sample size, at this point. I'll be concerned if he continues to suck in a month.

Yeah, no doubt, and surely when he heads back to the rotation, a bad 3 or 4 batter stretch won't stick out nearly as much. But he kind of BABIP'ed his way to a low ERA even when he was starting before.
I'm just concerned for a guy with his stuff seemingly just unable to fool minor leaguers all of a sudden - not missing bats, lots of hard contact. We saw him struggle to miss major league bats, which was something of a concern but chalked up to inexperience, in his 2010 campaign but the hard contact is pretty new at any level for him, especially when guys are only seeing him once around.
