I like a skipped start for youngsters as well. They are usually off after the skip, but usually bounce back.

He's been off, but it's encouraging that he's still been pretty efficient despite that.

Nevermind, they rushed Kyle Allen into the game and he's the one who got his world rocked.

0.1 ip, 5 h, 4 er, bb, k after throwing 2 innings on the 28th. Whatever they're doing with this kid, it's stupid as hell. They're setting him up to fail.

Leathersich 2.2 ip, 5 h, 3 er, 4 ks, hr

Wouldn't be shocking. Career high is 115 innings and I recall them saying he didn't go deep into games at all last year so the innings are creeping up but nobody talks about the pitches it takes to get there and the toll it takes.

I was at Wheeler's start tonight (first time ever at a B-Mets game, was in town for a wedding).....he was sitting at 96 the first 6 innings of the game (pitched well for the most part, defense let him down a bit but he did get hit pretty hard at times too)......but when he came out for the 7th his fastball was down to 91-93

Just in the "for what it's worth department"

Went to Binghamton tonight. It was the first time I've seen anyone. Wheeler definitely needs work on his control. Didn't seem to use his breaking stuff much. He's legit though. The gun was turned off for the first two innings, but from 3-7 innings he was hitting 95-96 a lot. Reese Havens was impressive. Homerun was a laser over the right field wall, went 3-4. His one out was a bullet right at the second basemen. I like what I saw and I definitely think he'll be a solid big leaguer if he stays healthy. Brad Holt was awful. He came in and couldn't throw a strike. Fastball was wild and topped out at 93. The one out he got was a bullet that Lagares made a nice running catch on. The one hit off him was a ground ball to third that hit the bag and took a bad hop, Marte fielded it nicely but the throw was just too late. I know it's one game, but I have no hope that he can be anything anymore. Rosario was impressive. Walked the first guy on 5 pitches, then shut the rest down. Struck out 4 over 2 innings, hit 95. Tovar reminds me of Tejada a lot. Made a throwing error, but it happens. Wilmer looked fine at first. Made a great diving play on a bullet to first and then touched first to double off the runner. Marte looked fine at third, didn't see a reason why he couldn't stick.

Great stuff. Thanks for the report!

Could also be that he is bored at AA after dominating for the first part of the season. I think if he is decent in his next start that he gets promoted to AAA after the All Star Break finishing the season there.

Havens last 13 games...
.318/.464/.477/.941
14 hits/14 ks/12 bbs/2 homers

I'd like to see more doubles from him, but at least he is showing life.
