Admitted to the hospital yesterday for a blood-related issue in his shoulder.

And the Matt Harvey era begins? Hopefully it is not serious for Dillon.

Hope it's not too serious. But it sounds scary.

It doesn't sound like anybody is too sure what is going on. We'll see what details come out soon.

If he has to miss time, I'd like to see Harvey.

I don't think there is any question that you will iF Gee has to go on the D.L. All the same, I hope Dillon is o.k. He's been good and Harvey can still use the time down in AAA to keep refining his control.

He's been great this year. 7.96 K/9 2.38 BB/9 50.3 % GB. I don't think anyone saw him putting up those types of numbers. Get well soon, Gee. You'd be a big loss to this rotation.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. If that is what happened he'll be done for the year. Let's hope not, certainly for his sake and selfishly for ours.

I immediately think of Tom Glavine. I think he came through that OK with only missing 1 turn, right (though there was a lot of pressure to not put him on the DL due to his career record of never hitting the DL, right?).

Anyway, for as much as Mets fans like to complain about how snakebitten and unfairly hit with injuries they are, we've essentially made it through since Johan went down in 2010 with only 2 significant starting pitcher injuries: Chris Young (incredibly predictable) and Mike Pelfrey (unpredictable). Thats gotta rank pretty well league-wide.

Not to say we're "due" for anything bad to happen, but that would seriously hurt our chances moving forward if any of the pitchers aside from Young went down suddenly.

Glad you reminded me of Glavine. He was fortunate. Guys like Jeremy Bonderman and David Cone weren't. But for now, it's all speculation. Let's hope he is o.k.

Baseball aside, I hope he's gonna be OK.
