Seriously though, the only thing that changes in drafts is depth. The talent at the top is always there if you have some gumption. There will be plenty of top shelf potential guys for SandyCo to ignore...ER choose from.

Of course it does. That's the way it is when the people making decisions take Kevin Plawecki (boring reach of a pick, low ceiling) over guys like Gallo and McCullers, then fail to sign their 2nd rounder.
It'll be pretty tough to get anything higher than the 8th pick. I think the team in line for the 7th is already about 15 under 500. So unless one of the teams around there surges, it looks like 8 is our best case scenario
