One more quote from this article:
Sources are now saying that negotiations with Dickey have ended successfully at an affordable rate and that the next step before an announcement can be made is for Jays' medical staff to examine the righthander at their spring training headquarters in Florida.
OMG, I hope they don't find out about that missing elbow ligament!!!!
Adam Rubin @AdamRubinESPN As people have noted, hope Jays are not blindsided by R.A. Dickey missing a ligament in his elbow.

Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal Source: Dickey in agreement with #BlueJays on two-year, $25 million extension that he had requested from #Mets, pending physical.

Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal #Mets-#BlueJays trade will be official as soon as Dickey passes physical. Contract will extend through '15, almost until his 41st birthday.

I've seen no one giving Sandy credit for signing RA to a TWO year contract last year, rather than another one year. Of course, Dickey may have had a say in that but knowing the Mets, they, of course, could have said take one year or leave.....
That two year deal turned out to be the real base behind the Mets ability to get back quality in return. Had Dickey been a FA this winter, the Mets would have not received anything.

Poor Dickey. This guy is one of the best pitchers in MLB right now and can only get 10 mill a year (avg. for 3 years) because of his age. What happens when this contract is up and he is still one of the top 10-15 pitchers in MLB? He STILL won't be able to get a good deal because of his age.
Guy should have mastered his craft earlier in his career
(money isn't everything but I guess 30 mill ain't chicken feed)

Buster Olney @Buster_ESPN Dickey just landed in FLA to undergo his physical with the Jays. Some of his 2-year, $25m extension with TOR will be a signing bonus for '13
