Interesting. Keith Law sees Conforto as a #2 hitter vs. a middle of the lineup bopper.

Nimmo
Conforto
Wright
Duda
TDA
Herrera
Wilmer
Lagares

?

MJ,
In fairness I don't think it takes too much squinting to see Nimmo and Conforto in an opening day 2016 lineup. Not saying it happens but for now it's fun to dream. Not the same as say penciling in Smith as the 2017 opening day 1b etc

Well, 7 of these guys have started an MLB game already and 6 are already full time starters. Not really a far stretch.

4 are starters. Lets relax. Lagares, Wright, Duda, TdA (off of half a season). Counting Wilmer and Hererra as "already full time starters" is a huge stretch. Lets see Wilmer get out of May. Herrera almost certainly has no 2015 role unless we fall out of it and deal Murphy.

But my point was largely facetious.

I overcounted by one on those figures by throwing the pitcher's spot in there. Point still stands though.

All but Conforto will be starting 2015 in Flushing or Las Vegas.

@keithlaw Ranks @Noahsyndergaard as his #18 "impact" rookie 4 15, being "blocked" hurts his ranking, calls Herrera a "great" prospect #mets

Are we adjusting this after trading Mazzoni?

Maybe this belongs in things we learnt this Spring, but across industry pretty unanimous top 9 Mets prospects Matz/Noah/Nimmo/Plaw/Rosario/Molina/Conforto/Dilson/Montero. But this Spring Reynolds, Bowman, Urena (based on scouting buzz) have firmly entrenched themselves at 10-12. After that there is a gap. Smith/Cheech are behind imo.

I have a hard time seeing Bowman as "firmly ahead" of Smith or Cheech. I think Smith will be better this year and he still makes good contact and Cheech, from what little I saw of him this spring, looks fine. Matt Reynolds might be better than Cecchini now but he's also 3 years older. I have a hard time saying he's "firmly" a better prospect, though I wouldn't object if somebody had him ahead, or had those 2 close together on a prospect list.

What I'm more curious about is who the new additions will be. Becerra - if he has a strong year. Champ Stuart if he hits a bit better, cause he's got everything else going for him. The DSL guys who came state side like Sanchez or Cespedes.

and, I've always loved a good underdog story. Go Mets (2018).
