Mets "talking up" both big IFA kids more than usual. No idea if that means if they are THAT high on them or just talking them up but I guess notable.

They invited three of them to instructs. They didn't do that with Gimenez or Guerrero.

Thoughts on Jenista? Reminds me a bit of Conforto. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epoTe7xhqZc

Any names/reports?

Sebastian Espino? Signed in 2016 for $300K but it's the 2016 signees we're talking about. Saw a little time in GCL this year and he's nearly 6 months younger than Vientos.

Picture of Espino here: http://metsminors.net/mets-sign-ifas-se ... uiel-pena/

Jose Peroza? Signed for an undisclosed amount due to being from Venezuela. Also got a cup of coffee in GCL. 17 days younger than Espino.

Any others? Shervyen Newton? (signed as part of the 2015 group, from netherlands). Poor numbers in 2016 but good in 2017. Lead the team with 9 triples and 50 walks.

http://metsminors.net/mets-internationa ... en-newton/

Luis Santana? Signed 2016 200K but old enough to play that same year Hit .325 last year with 34 walks to 22 Ks and 3 homers (which surprisingly was good enough to tie for 2nd on the team) and 52 rbi in 65 games. 2nd on the team in doubles, average, OBP and top in Slugging. 5'8 though, if that matters. (Guys listed 5'8 are often closer to 5'6).

Did I miss anyone worth mentioning?

and speaking of DSL guys, what does Yoel Romero have to do to get a call to instructs? Hitting .364 wasn't enough? Maybe they felt he didn't need to work on anything specific and he'll be in GCL next year.

They have been talking up Mauricio and Hernandez the 2 bonus babies. Newton is an A+ athlete with a cannon arm so even if he doesn't work out at SS you may even see him tried on the mound at some point.

Oh, the 2017 signings? Are they at instructs? I think both guys are still 16, right?
