I really like Szapucki, but I still have a hard time wrapping my head around putting him above someone who has real major league experience and pitched as well as any of the Mets star pitchers through their first 10 games. Sometimes I feel these scouts fall in love with what they project rather than real tangible results.

I agree, but Dunn and Dom over both of them is the bigger gripe.

I'd take Szapucki over everyone in the system aside from Rosario and Gsellman.

I wonder if Sanchez wrote the writeups for Gimenez and Guerrero. Those are the two writeups I'm actually pretty interested in.

Yeah, good call... I get Rivera is 28, but half the guys above him won't ever see the majors.

I think they used another shot of Ceech for Nimmo's profile.

Anyone like the comp of Joe Panik for Ceech? Both low strikeout, high contact hitters, and Ceech probably ends up at 2B. I'd definitely take 2015 Panik in a heart beat.

I think Cheevh could be our second baseman of the future.

I like Cheech's chances of being a starter. I don't think he'll blow anyone away, but a solid-average starter, maybe a high-average/OBP leadoff type (maybe). That's a little bit in the stratosphere for his upside.

Gotta believe the Mets like Flexen more than the "26th" best prospect or why waste a 40 man spot?

Planck too after paying him a million.

On the one hand - rankings are pointless. Outside of the top maybe 10-15, it's pretty close to guessing and it changes a ton year to year. I think, 100% healthy and on, Flexen is right there with Merandy Gonzalez, perhaps just ahead of him and certainly ahead of Conlon who got #24.

http://m.mlb.com/prospects/2017?list=nym

No idea where I'd put Planck but in the top 30 for sure, probably top 25, but it's such a guessing game. Planck (million dollar bonus) vs Corey Taylor (throws 96 and could see majors this year) - as an example. I'd go with Planck, but Taylor's another guy who a case could be made for top 30.

I like the David Thompson ranking, mostly cause looking at his numbers, he doesn't really deserve it. His numbers aren't bad, but they don't exactly stand out as a prospect, not for a college pick in A/A+ his 2nd year. So, I'm guessing he looks the part, cause numbers alone he doesn't get that ranking.

Lots of guys to look forward to watching this year.

Will Lindsay get healthy?
Will Becerra be healthy and hit for power and average for a change?
Will Ali Sanchez hit a little? Luis Carpio?
Will Peter Alonso continue to crush the ball?
What level will Gimenez start and how will he do against a higher level of competition.

Lots of guys to watch this year.
