That doesn't mean that 75% of Mets fans wanted to trade Noah Syndergaard for Todd Frazier, it means that 76% of 118 voters in a Twitter poll wanted to trade Noah Syndergaard for Todd Frazier.

Good point. I still found it disturbing that people were so willing to part with him. The run we were on was because of the pitching, not in spite of it.

I'd argue that amongst the more knowledgeable fans out there - a group that includes most folks here - very few thought trading Thor was a good idea.

Heyman predicts Mets will win the East, Dodgers to win it all.
Cespedes 2nd in MVP race...to Trea Turner.
Noah wins the CY (and tallies most Ks).
Gsellman 3rd for NL Rookie of the Year.

NL East
The Nats run away with the division again this year, this time a little later. The Braves make some noise in the division and league while the Marlins have false starts all year mainly due to their starting pitching but their offense and bullpen are in the top 5 in the league. The Mets continue to struggle producing runs and have down years from major bullpen pieces (Salas, Blevins and Reed), just missing the postseason after a loss in a one-game playoff with the Cardinals.

Nats 94-68
Mets 86-76
Marlins 84-78
Braves 83-79
Phillies 64-98

NL Central
Cubs dominate again while the Pirates show a lot of fight for most of the year but fade again due to lack of resources to improve the team. The Cardinals have another winning season although their starting pitching struggles.

Cubs 98-64
Cardinals 86-76 - WC
Pirates 82-80
Brewers 76-86
Reds 67-95

NL West
This is the year all the innings catch up Mad-Bum and he goes under the knife. Cueto also has a down year and they struggle to stay above 500 most of the year. The Rockies are the surprise team this year with a lot of luck and health with their pitching. They ultimately sneak into the postseason in the last week.

Dodgers 96-66
Rockies 87-75 - WC
Giants 83-79
DBacks 78-84
Padres 65-97

AL East
Yankees have a monster offense and their bullpen carries them to the division crown.

Yankees 93-69
Red Sox 90-72 - WC
Blue Jays 86-76
Orioles 83-79
Rays 75-87

NL Central
Don't care.

Indians
Tigers - WC
Royals
White Sox
Twins

NL West
Don't care.

Astros
Rangers
Mariners
Angels
A's

NL Wild Card
Cardinals over Rockies

NLDS
Nats over Dodgers
Cubs over Cardinals

NLCS
Cubs over Nats

AL Wild Card
Red Sox over Tigers

ALDS
Yankees over Indians
Red Sox over Astros

ALCS
Red Sox over Yankees

World Series
Cubs over Red Sox

Pretty good guesses except for Mets and Tigers.

I've seen a bunch of folks like the Rockies this year, and thats definitely a non-Mets team I can get behind, I just still don't see how they overcome where they always seem to fail: in that pitching staff. They have a bunch of solid mid rotation guys, but mostly guys that put the ball in play, which is dangerous there, and to be honest, its a lot of the same faces. Jon Gray looks like he could really take a step forward, but not super optimistic on some of the young guys they're really pushing ahead to Coors.

I see them being good, not quite playoff ready.

Similarly, I like the Fish (I always seem to like the Fish). I also think the Braves have a chance to be real pesky as that lineup is goooood. I think this is the year the Pirates go backwards and they have to figure out how to not let the franchise descend into the depths they previously were in.

The Giants have overachieved based on the names there for a while, and I think its finally getting to the point where its going to tilt the other way. And I don't like the Cardinals to continue to just keep winning because they're them. That pitching staff has collectively fallen apart quick, and behind Martinez, I don't love any of them. So a little changing of the guard in the NL I think is in store:

WAS 92
NYM 87 W
MIA 85 W
ATL 81
PHL 71

NLC
CHIC 98
STL 83
MIL 78
PIT 76
CIN 63

NLW
LAD 92
CO 83
AZ 81
SF 77
SD 58

ALE
BOS 91
TOR 86 W
BAL 83
NYY 81
TAM 73

ALC
CLE 92
KC 88 W
DET 85
CHIS 71
MN 68

ALW
HOU 89
SEA 83
TEX 82
OAK 79
LAA 74

NLDS: Cubs over Mets; Nats over Dodgers
ALDS: Cleveland over Jays; Astros over Sawx

NLCS: Cubs over Nats
ALCS: Astros over Indians

WS: Cubs over Astros

Pretty good calls.
