Is there any evidence which suggests that pitching an inning 6 months from now reduces the injury risk by any discernible amount or at all?
If this is so fragile that it's like a rubber band that can pop at any moment, then I would think the risk would stay with him for a long time. However, I haven't heard anything to suggest that the recovery of this tear would be any less than 100%. Normally once muscle tissue repairs, that's it. It's intact. If the doctors determined that it's healed, then there prob isn't much risk to pitching by now.
They'd have to promote the guy in your avatar at this point to sell tickets. Nobody's going to buy a ticket to a game to watch Thor pitch 'one' inning. StubHub tickets are $6 and nobody's buying them.
