Mets expected to sign Venezuelan RHP David Marcano. On Badler's list, the Mets are expected to sign 3, 16, 40, and 49.

Marcano won't be signing right away since he doesn't turn 16 until August 28th.

Is that the list for Venezuela alone or all the kids available this period?

Everyone.

Mets expected to get Dominican SS Ronny Mauricio (#3) for roughly $2 million, Dominican OF Adrian Hernandez (#16) for over $1 million, Dominican OF Stanly Consuegra (#40), and Marcano (#49).

That looks like a nice bounty.

And nice to see some OFers in the mix. OFers always seemed like an afterthought here. These two look very interesting.

The Mets have been lacking in good "Stanley's" for years, nice to see them rectify that.

These four will probably take up close to their entire cap.

Mercano at #49, he's probably the highest ranked international signing pitcher they've made since . . . that guy who they signed for a million. Didn't amount to anything, he was the son of a major league pitcher I think. Drawing a blank on the name.

But the mets have gone nearly all position players with their money signings during the Sandy years. Maybe 275K for Luis Silva was the highest.

That's the one. Sometimes swing and misses happen. Jose Garcia comes to mind. I loved the signing at the time but . . . doesn't look like much now.

Still - hope for the best. I like these 4 guys. Short article on Consuegra

Isn't there a number where you can sign as many prospects as you want, as ling as its under that cap number?

I take it those are 2017 guys not 2016. (can't access the Balder article).
