I really don't understand the (manufactured?) outrage about bringing him in. You're gonna need a starter once Wheeler hits his limit. Its really not a big deal if its Colon since the team is going nowhere and he's not blocking anyone by eating innings in August and September.

Return of Colon is an idea that seems bad, really bad, but isn't. It's a bad sign that the Mets would do it, but the ship of this season has sailed, so at this point it's just a matter of the roster spot. If his arrival means some 25-man shuffling, I'm on board.

Ramirez and Montero have actually been better, or not as bad if you prefer. That's a sad statement

I love big sexy, it doesn't look like this season is gonna end well anyways so why not? I'm not rooting for them to lose or anything but hey if they are gonna keep stinking then I might as well be entertained and Colon entertains me. I just wish they would hurry up and give the kids a shot, I don't need to see any more of Reyes and Duda can go to the Bronx and hit some homers in the little league field for all I care. Big Sexy needs to come "home"

Amazing that a Mets fan would rather have Colon than Duda

Never said I'd rather see Colon than Duda but if Duda is gonna net the team pieces to help them win next year I'm all for it and it's more about my wanting to see Dom Smith than anything else.

I'm not all in for tank mode but I'm not a fan of keeping things as is if it this team is gonna continue to be mediocre anyways.

Right before that I said I want to see the kids play meaning Rosario and Smith so yes Duda can go to the Bronx if it means we can see what the youth movement has to bring.

I'm not. He was great last year and if you're already trotting out terrible players to take the mound once or twice a week, why not try a terrible player who was recently good? This doesn't mean I think that the Mets should sign him, but I get it why a contending team would roll the dice.

this thread should be called #colonoscopy.

serious note, i'd take him over montero and ramirez. Maybe he makes things more interesting to watch. i'd like to watch him continue to swing the bat once every 5 days.

I don't want anyone on the team on August 2 who has zero chance of being here on April 1.

I think it goes without saying that you don't sign Colon for what he's done this year. You sign him for what he did last year and see if he can get part-way back to that. That's why 3-4 teams are showing interest.

If he's done, he's done. It happens to everyone sooner or later. But the fact that Montero's been better this year isn't a reason not to look at signing him. Reasons to not sign him would be - other pitchers we can and should give the time to and undesirable 40 man roster move to make room for him.

The mets, in my opinion, are thin enough in pitching that I have no problem with them bringing in Colon.

and, while it has nothing to do with Colon, my god, can you imagine if Sandy had a time machine. No WAY he'd give away Ynoa ad Verrett for nothing. Give away Goeddel & Gilmartin, and two thirds of the guys on this board were screaming that at the time. Props to you guys, the majority on this board were right about that a the time.

I've always loved a good underdog story. Go Mets (2018). I know an underdog when I see one.
