Cincy lost, they're now 1.5 ahead of us in the race for biggest loser.
Sandiego's lost a few and they now have the 7 spot, 2 games below the mets and the tiebreaker.
Still some chance of movement below 7, but 5-7 looks most likely now.

6th appears pretty solid right now.

We lose the tiebreaker with SD and only 1 game separates us. We could slip to 7 easy. Depends on how the series goes against Philly.

Mets finish season with 6 game win streak, end up drafting 8th. I have to admit, I'll laugh.

That's a very Metsian scenario.

I think a few years ago they staged an *amazing* very late inning comeback due to a heroic moment from an Anthony Recker type which brought them from getting the 6th pick (if they lost) to the 10th pick in one fell swoop. One of many, many, many "you can't make it up" moments from this ballclub.

At least I THINK it was the draft they ended up with conforto so there was a silver lining. Though the Metsian black cloud is that he might never be the same again.

I think this will be a statement series this weekend where we show the Phillies that we are certainly no pushovers.

That's funny. I didn't remember that, but 4 teams ended up 74-88 that year, so looks like it happened.

This year isn't so bad. Sandiego could easily catch us, but it would take just 1 Philly victory or 1 Brave victory and we secure the spot ahead of Atlanta. 8 is a long shot that requires sweeps from both NY and Miami. 6 or 7 is most likely. The Padres could pretty easily slip into the #6 spot since they hold the tiebreaker. The tiebreaker doesn't apply with Atlanta cause they're going to end the year with 161 games. They need to actually be 1/2 game below us to win. They can't tie.

Seems I counted wrong with the Braves.

Mets have #6 but only 1 game separates them and both the Braves and Padres so if the mets win, they could end up #8.

The Padres have an interesting series against the Giants who, if they win and Detroit lose, they could end up slipping from #1 to #2.

Similarly a Detroit win and Philly loss could slip Philly from 3-2.

and Cincy and the Whitesox are currently tied and either could end up with #4.

All the games start around 3 tomorrow. I'll bet there's some scoreboard watching.

I'd be fine with a win if the Braves & Pads also win. In fact, that's my ideal.
