I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the Mets will surprise us and sign Charlie Blackmon. As for third base, my gut is feeling is that David Wright will collect every dime owed to him until 2020 and we will have utility guys playing third until then.

Let Flores play 3B.

Get speed at 2B or CF.

If you get an outfielder shop Bruce.

That WOULD be a surprise considering he's not a FA

That's really going to hurt our leverage.

8. Lagares, CF - R

Not exactly my "fantasy offseason" but we get younger and better defensively, which IMO are both important. There are some things there that I'm sure people will question but overall I think it's a step in the right direction. I suppose that Moustakas could actually be a realistic target considering all the money that we have coming off the books, but I figured I'd play it a bit safer/smaller with Frazier. Hopefully I'm proven wrong though.

**as far as Guillorme over Cheech: if Cecchini still had that plus glove/arm I'd go with him in a second for that bench spot, but as of now Guillorme appears to be our best defensive MI in the organization and IMO would be a good spelling option for Flores, IF we decide to go with him as the everyday 2B. IMO Guillorme's offensive production at Bingy has made him a legitimate MLB candidate next year.

Not a chance i'm resigning Walker. Not with his hold your breath back issues. Besides, Murphy is a FA after next year. :D

Spangenberg starting 3b? Yuck. 93 wRC+, -5 DRS at 3b.

I'll stick with penningtana's format. This is what I think will actually happen (or something similar), not necessarily what I want.

* = FA signings

C: d'Arnaud
1B: Smith
2B: Walker*
3B: Flores/TJ Rivera
SS: Rosario
LF: Cespedes
CF: Jon Jay*
RF: Conforto

BN1: A.J. Ellis, C - R*
BN2: TJ Rivera/Flores, INF - R
BN3: Guillorme, INF - L
BN4: Nimmo, OF - L
BN5: Lagares, OF - R

SP1: deGrom, RHP
SP2: Syndergaard, RHP
SP3: Harvey, RHP
SP4: Matz, LHP
SP5: Wheeler, RHP
(SP depth: Gsellman, Lugo, Montero, Flexen, Molina)

BP1: Familia, RHP - CL
BP2: Ramos, RHP - SU
BP3: Blevins, LHP
BP4: Cishek, RHP*
BP5: Sewald, RHP
BP6 & BP7: OPEN COMP(Smoker vs Drew Smith vs. Callahan, etc.)

Lineup:
1. Rosario, SS - R
2. Conforto, RF - L
3. Cespedes, LF - R
4. Walker - 2B - R
5. Flores, 3B - R
6. Smith, 1B - L
7. TdA, C - R
8. Jay, CF - L

I think Walker and the Mets finally work something out, but he will probably hit the FA market first. Jay could be worth the flyer to be a straight platoon guy here with Lagares. He's probably more affordable than Bruce, and he can play CF. I think Bruce declines the QO, but I could be wrong on that. If he does, I'm fine with Conforto in CF.

Absent a FA lefty RP signing, I'd guess Smoker has the inside shot at one of those two bullpen spots. I feel like they "spend money" on a reliever that's not going to cost closer money, if you consider Cishek's likely 2-3 year deal to be spending money.

Wow tough crowd. Guess you didn't catch any of the games in SD. Spang looked pretty special defensively and he's got 4 or 5 control years to go and hits LHed. And since June 1 when he more or less started playing regularly, he's OPSing about 850. And the C and LHed arm in that deal can be pretty special. Either way I see them going outside the org to fill 3B.

Anything on ACab possibly to the DBs? They suddenly look very thin on the IF.
