Whoever gives Arrieta the next contract will regret it. He is regressing.

I feel like you can say this about almost any free agent pitcher in 2017.

Or hitter.

Free Agency is a sucker's game unless you get the Ring immediately.

You're both correct in all likelihood.

Cabrera, Graderson, Blevins, Rene Rivera, Reyes (if you want to count him), all solid free agent signings. Cespedes - jury is still out. He needs to stay healthy.

It's not as bad as all that. There's maybe a 30-40% success rate.

Well Rene Rivera and Reyes were signed for comparative peanuts. There are few bad FA signings that make >$1 million per season. Blevins we traded for then re-signed, also at not a terribly prohibitive cost. Cabrera and Granderson are the only 'splurges' of that group and even Cabrera only got two years plus the option.

Mariners letting Dyson walk. Bad blood.

The Marlins are reportedly going to trim their payroll to $90 Mil. MLB Trade Rumors site speculated that Marcell Ozuna could be possibly traded. This year he played mainly left field but has played plenty of CF in the past. Does anyone know why he was moved out of left? Was it because of his knees? If he's ok for CF, I would imagine Mets would have to include Rosario in a deal for him. Thoughts on that possibility IF it was to be offered to the Mets?

Ozuna is a fascinating talent...he could either explode or implode...

No chance I am paying the value in talent on that one...especially from a spare system...

He's also controllable I think for another two years. The only way I would even consider including Rosario is if I was 100% sure he can handle CF for the next 7 years at least.

Removing Rosario and creating hole to add Ozuna is not what good teams do, and we really have no excess in any particular area to move...sort of a zero sum game there...
