Rookie maximums for at-bats (130), games pitched (30) or innings (50) in the major leagues"

If the 2 leaders are within 5% of each other, or the leader has less than 35% there will be a run-off between the top 2. If a run-off results in a tie the tiebreaker will be vote total in the previous poll, we will continue to "go back" in the polls until there is a clear leader.
*Rosario ineligible
*Dom ineligible

P.S. don't stress too much if you feel player X deserves to be on this list vs. player Y. It's extremely unlikely someone not yet nominated would be win any given poll. Nominate those you see fit.
** Executive decision, pulled the plug early on #7. By having the polls begin in the morning it allows for a more lively discussion. Lindsay was running away with the vote. Same with #10. Poll #11 will only have 9 options, I accidently had Kay listed a second time (copy and paste, sue me lol)

1) Andres Gimenez (SS) 12/27 votes-44%
2) David Peterson (LHP) 12/24 votes-50%
3) Mark Vientos (SS/3B) 13/24 votes-54%
4) Peter Alonso (1B) 21/28 votes-75%
5) Thomas Szapucki (LHP) 10/22-45%
6) Justin Dunn (RHP) 4/20-20%, runoff with Lindsay/Guillorme/Kay 9/22-41%
7) Desmond Lindsay (OF) 12/26-46%
8) Luis Guillorme (SS) 8/25-32%, run-off with Kay 11/22-50%, advances due to more votes in previous poll
9) Anthony Kay (LHP) 9/24-38%, run-off with Bashlor 10/150-50%, advances due to more votes in previous poll
10) Tyler Bashlor (RHP) 11/16-69%

Kay should have been removed from this poll, right?

Please vote again if you cast a vote, I had Kay listed twice and to remove him it caused all votes to disappear.

Phil Evans, cuz I think he's better than Gavin Cecchini and I don't know if anyone else on this list is a major leaguer (and I can't make any informed guess on Mauricio, so just let others vote him on wherever).

I guess Nido is probably someone who finds himself in the show for periods when he's cheap if the opportunity is right as a catch and throw guy, but thats even more boring than utility infielder.

Went Molina for upside, even if his 2017 didn't earn it. Could have gone a few here (Molina, Cheech, Nido, maybe Flexen). I'm pretty firmly in the not-Oswalt camp.

and, I've always loved a good underdog story. Go Mets (2018).

I’ll be honest that I missed most of Flexen’s starts to end the season on account of the Mets being impossible to watch. Does he have any chance of being a major league starting pitcher?

Chance? Well he has the frame and has 2 pitches but likely? Probably not. Even his velocity somehow has people parroting "mid 90's". His FB averaged 92.4, it's enough to be a big leaguer but let's not pretend he's something he's not. Dream would be an innings eating 4, more likely a reliever if he's going to be more than an extra arm.

The thing with Flexen is that there was no way he should have been in the majors this year. He missed all that time with injuries and just started pitching above A-ball. He had success there in limited time but really should have remained down there all year. To be thrown into the majors like that while he was still honing his repertoire would have thrown just about anyone.

I think he's a longshot to be even Dillon Gee, unless he figures something out. The thing is, people are voting for Phil Evans and Corey Oswalt, who's upside might be Flexen's upside - or less. I'm OK with voting Flexen in around the 12-14 spot.

I just didn't even really see any flashes that led me to believe Flexen was "normal marinating in the minors" away from being a successful starter. Hitters just look far too comfortable up there against him. I'd love to be wrong and have him make 15 starts in the minors come up and pitch really well but I think if he's going to help the Mets for any prolonged period it will be out of the BP where maybe he DOES throw mid-90's and doesn't need his put away pitch as much.
