Harvey wasn't.

Yeah, I kind of agree - not that Harvey shouldn't have done things differently - he should have. But Thor's starting to go thru that "I'm Thor, and I am somebody" phase many young, upper echelon players go through...he should be looking at Harvey as an example of what not to do.

It's way too soon to know, but I hope this injury setback this season was a wake up call of sorts for Syndergaard. He isn't a literal superhero. He is human. And he is as fragile as any other pitcher. I truly expect him to bounce back in a big way and show some additional maturity. That's not to imply he was immature but this was a learning opportunity. I hope he took advantage.

I'm not going to get that crazy after one rehab start, however 93 MPH and all over the place sounds like the same Harvey before he hurt himself again this year.

He got down to high 80's before he left. He needs endurance and show he can maintain he velo as well as the control.

I think he's finished anyway. He's not getting a nice big press conference from the Yankees or anyone else. Best hope is that he can be a nice 5th starter for the Mets moving forward and build some trade value back at the deadline next year. I can not reiterate enough that he's coming off the two worst surgeries that any pitcher could ever have with the last one having a very low recovery rate. It would be a miracle if he overcame it.

I followed Harvey more than anyone else in the minors at that time, made one my now semi-infamous predictions about him, and was pumped when he came up. Then I saw his first interview and went "Oh crap, he's a dck!" From that point forward, I've had no use for him. I'll be glad when he's off the team.

That said, I'd still like to see the Big 5 at least once through the rotation before they split up. Even if they're just the Walking Wounded 5, I'd still like to see it.

Nobody cares.

On the contrary, I think it's important that he comes back and pitches well the last month of the season to build up some market value.

I'm just being a troll in regards to the name of the thread. :P

I actually do care as well. He either helps the team going forward as a pitcher or by becoming an attractive trade piece.
