Looks like we kicked in 1.7 mill for the Walker deal. Fwiw, I went on a few Brewers' fan forums, and the consensus seems to be that they gave up a player like Clint Coulter. He's a former 1st-rounder from 2012 with some power and iirc, he used to be a catcher who is now an of'er.

Coulter is no longer viewed as a prospect. Not on the Brewers top 30 from Milb, nor their pre-season top top 27 from Sickels or FG's pre-season top 25. I'm not expecting much for Walker but this would be essentially AAA depth.

Right... Anyone of any value or interest would not have cleared August waivers so this is assuredly untrue.

Excellent point. I can rest easy knowing it was not Andujar.

If anything, it might have been Jake Cave or something.

Carton is a moron. His source is probably the National Enquirer

Or the Yankees, who would have absolutely no reason to float Cartoon a bogus name knowing he can't repeat it on air but believable enough to get him on another Mets rant....

This is Carton trying to drum up stupid controversy for the sake of ratings. He's a shock jock/know nothing

I was halfway joking previously, but I'm actually hoping now that Nate Orf is the yield for Walker.

sidenote: Cistulli has begun to take notice of David Thompson in his weekly fringe column.

edit: who am I kidding...? the Mets would never give Orf a real chance.

I can easily see, as the team fades into another long down period, David Thompson playing our version of Kevin Kouzmanoff or Trevor Plouffe or whatever at 3rd, where he hits .260 with 16 HRs for a few years for a 70 ish win team. Yayyyyyy.
