K-Mets game is in a rain delay. They are at Greeneville, the team they trail by 4 games for the second playoff spot.

Joe Cavallaro, who has gotten off to a nice start, is the scheduled starter.

GCL Mets will start in 23 minutes. Jeurys Familia is scheduled to pitch.

Familia was supposed to pitch in the GCL today. He did not.

Pitching in a 5-4 game, Gerson Bautista gets his first save with St. Lucie.

Zach Green strikes out swinging.
Jan Hernandez pops out to first baseman Peter Alonso.
Jose Pujols strikes out swinging.

Final pitch was apparently 101 MPH.

Woodmansee wow. I knew he was having a bad season but.... 2 for his last 31 with 13 k's... hitting .119!!!!!

Ryder Ryan 2 innings 2 hits 0 runs 1 walk 1 k

Bautista 1 perfect 2 k's. If he keeps pitching like this he'll force the Mets to add him to the 40 man.Curious how many ML RP they add #Mets

Uceta, Bashlor, Callahan, Bautista that's already 4. If Callahan comes up and pitches well that helps matters but I wonder how many "not helping the big club" RP they add.

Thompson's last 18 games

23 of 64, .359 .405 .656 4 homers and 10 xbhs in that time. Only negative is 15 Ks is a little high.

He's someone who could be tossed into a deal this winter.

Jeff McNeil is quietly putting up some solid numbers lately

July:

61 PAs, 2 walks, 12 Ks, 1 HBP, .241 .279 .345 .624

August

37 PAs, 5 walks, 4 Ks, 3 HBP .379 .514 .448

He's not hitting for power, just 1 homer since he returned in July, but otherwise the numbers are good. St. Lucie though. He opened in Bing last year so it's a level he should do well in.

Yeah I have no idea why he's not in Bingo.

I don't get that at all.

Thompson's a guy who might see majors next year. He might play some 3rd base for us and you don't trade away what you need and Thompson has a shot at being something we need next year.

He missed a year and a half and as recently as 2 weeks ago he was putting up bad numbers. Besides, the mets have more coaches at St. Lucie. Him being in St. Lucie is fine. Maybe he sees Binghamton for the playoffs if the mets want to reward him. Maybe he sees AFL this year too. I think he'd be a good choice, though he was an AFL guy in 2015, so I'm not sure how that works.
