He's the real deal. SS locked up for years, knock on wood.

He's shown a lot already since his promotion. A 21-year-old taking Chapman deep with a nice swing is pretty impressive.

I know we lost, but I don't feel so bad about it. Dom and Amed going yard makes me smile. :)

As far as losses go, it's hard to beat.

Why is Scooter looking at that pitch down 2 runs in the 8th inning?

And that looked like a pretty lazy tag attempt by ACab.

Probably was looking for another slider.

Everything Cabrera does is in slow motion. He needs to be removed from the roster ASAP.

Was going to add something to the effect that he just appears disinterested in playing defense. He's not really making much of a case for the team to pick his option up, is he? Knowing the team, they'll prob pick it up, try to trade him and get stuck with him bc no one wants him...

I know the ball is juiced, but Gary Sanchez is one strong dude. Can't believe that went to the warning track. Great play by Lagares, who was playing really shallow.

Yeah, dG got away with that pitch which caught way too much of the plate for where he was in the count. But that play also reminded me that I definitely want Lagares on the 2018 Mets. Without some obvious alternatives, I'll opt for the elite up the middle defense.

Could have tied it up for deGrom and then lost it in the pen, but you can't have everything.

Haven't read all 6 pages, so maybe it was mentioned, but Aaron Judge tied a record at today's game.

32 straight games with a strikeout. He ties Adam Dunn. One more, the record is all his. :-)

I've always loved a good underdog story. Go Mets (2018). I know an underdog when I see one.

I think it’s great,” Collins said of the Yankee Stadium experience. “You can’t have a better scenario, I don’t think, for young player development than pressure situations. I believe that at any level. There’s a time when they need to be challenged and when they come up here, you have to challenge them with big opportunities like tonight.”

http://www.newsday.com/sports/baseball/mets/subway-series-mets-rookies-dominic-smith-amed-rosario-each-homer-1.14056180?

"So who knows what the heck I was thinking when I pinch hit Reyes for Smith which completely contradicts everything I just said. I can't understand myself sometimes." Collins continued. (No, he didn't).

He's a 21-year-old free swinger facing the best pitching on the planet...
