Someone younger that will have a strong relationship with the FO.

Maybe Lopez or Leger.

How strong of a connection does the FO have to the minor league managers? I think they're both Omar-era holdovers so maybe theres a Ricco connection there but probably more with guys like Kevin Morgan who have been in minor league operations forever.

I fully expect the list to be low personality lifers with past connections to this group. Scott, Hale, Geren.

No way it's going to be anyone without experience in a major media market and prob not a 1st time ML manager either. That would lead me to speculate that Hale is likely the favorite. Others I would rank as contenders in no particular order:

Brad Mills
Walt Weiss
Gardy
Geren
Bogar (interim skipper of the Rangers at the end of the 2014 season)

If they surprised and went with a rookie, I would speculate on McEwing or Wotus, or less likely Ibanez.

If I were handicapping, I might go in this order:

Hale
Mills
Bogar
Wotus
McEwing
Weiss
Geren
Gardy

Oh, and not expecting it, but if Hurdle became available, I would throw him up near the top with Hale.

Is there a Brad Mills connection I'm missing? I think he's tied to Tito for life otherwise.

How about Girardi if the Yankees don't resign him?

Isn't it obvious? We're going to trade for Bob Melvin.
