Mlbpipeline ranked Rhame the best reliever we traded for. Not saying I agree but that's where they ranked him.

I don't agree but it's all within a certain fudge factor.

Rhame needs not a slider but a change-up. Not impossible. I'm sure he has a change but it needs to be refined.

I'm not crazy happy about the returns but, heck, even if two of these guys pan out, that is two less scrubs that we have to sign and release in May somewhere in the future. From what I can see, we are packed with young relievers from AAA to full season, lower A. My fav is Tyler Bashlor, based on his progression.

I only say that because Terry likely retires ...So whoever becomes the new manager may want to bring in their own staff...So Long and Warthen, etc maybe gone.

Warthen's survived a lot of different administrations, he's pretty much a sacred cow for Jeff and company.

He needs to work with Viola.

Yeah, I actually like Drew Smith the best, I think, with Bautista's upside pretty tantalizing.

If I were ranking cool factors...
1. Drew Smith
2. Gerson Bautista
3. Jacob Rhame
4. AJ Ramos
5. Jamie Callaghan
6. Ryder Ryan
7. Steve Nogosek

And with Bashlor, Uceta, Blackham, Regnault, McGeorge, Magliozzi...among others...We won't have to recycle through the same old guys.

It definitely allows enough options to rebuild the bullpen...along with Blevins, Sewald, Familia and Ramos.

Please get rid of Dan "Destroyer of Hopes, Dreams and Arms" Warthen.

Yep, the last two years have made it pretty clear that his slider ruins arms.

Warthen ruins arms. I don't think his slider is the reason why though.
