Ranfy Adon triples and scores on Guillermo Granadillo's ground out.

GCL trails 3-1 after 3.5.

with a rare offensive game, GCL mets win 10-5. Vientos ends the day 4 for 5 with his team leading 3rd homer. (nobody else on the GCL-mets has more than 1).

It's nowhere close to the league lead, but it's still kinda cool.

I'm happy enough with Vientos' debut season, especially given that he's sort of a year behind his HS contemporaries at only 17-years-old. I'd say it's an encouraging start to his career.

I wonder if they move him to Brooklyn for 2018 or keep him in Rookie Kingsport. Can't imagine nor do I want a Columbia assignment, but hey, I guess ya never know. I'd leave that on the table for late 2018 though if he's crushing the lower levels.

McNeil promoted to Vegas to cover the holes created by Reynolds and Cheech leaving for Queens but he had to be promoted anyway.

Dave Peterson's still up there too even with only 2.2 innings pitched so far. An argument could be made for Vientos at #3 I think.

Looks like Luis Mateo is listed to get the start for Vegas. His first start since 2013. A few years ago he was an interesting prospect.

That is seriously going to jeopardize his chance of a September call-up.

I'm guessing McNeil was on the early morning flight from Tampa to Phoenix and then hopped on up to Fresno in plenty of time for tonight's game.

He's 2 for 3 with a HBP, 2 runs and steal in his Vegas debut.

Luis Mateo, Beck Wheeler and Neil Wagner have 7 scoreless innings. Phillip Evans has homered.

5-0 Vegas in the 8th
