Seriously, don't you have to qualify that?? His first 33 ML starts his ERA is under 3.

Hahahaha, I knew it.

No one is denying the guy is going thru a rough patch.

How can you tell that the first part of his short career is who he is and not this part?

Saw someone post this on Twitter:
All 40 of Matz's first-inning pitches here. Lots of stuff not even close, and basically nothing in the bottom third of the strike zone.

Wonderful

I didn't say that first 33 starts is definitely his baseline, but I'm not going to pretend that it didn't happen. But just on volume, which has more credibility- 33 starts or 8 starts?

It's not a stretch to say that recently Montero has been a better starter than Matz has been. Or as he is to me, Steven Door Matz

The most recent starts which have been awful. And no sign of him really turning it around.

Depends. Which is more credible, Harvey's 2015 or his 2016 and 2017?

Have to say, didn't expect Domo to be making such weak contact most ABs.

Depends. Which is more credible, Harvey's 2015 or his 2016 and 2017?

Recent is certainly more relevant but that doesn't necessarily make it a new baseline either, as the crew talks about the proper pronunciation of jaguar .....

Not thread worthy so I'll post it here. The cubs hit 6 homers today and lost 13-10. 7 is the record for number of homers by a losing team.

Neil Walker's Milwaukee is still in the race. Go Brewers!!!

The point is, he had surgery, missed significant time to start the year and looks totally different as a pitcher. Arm action, velocity, command. All of it.

As someone else said, you can make a case Montero is a better starter now.

Hmmm, just occured to me. Not sure if this happens but I wonder if the return on Walker is predicated on him staying healthy the rest of the year.
