115 is nothing in baseball now

You're right. I'd like to adjust that to 140 times. Guy swings at everything.

Do I hear 180? 180 Ks doesn't worry me as much as the lucky to get 20 walks.

I wonder what we'll really learn in the next month to make this horrid baseball worth it.

Then IF we learn anything, will management do anything with that info.

I think 2018 will suck too

Probably learn that Top Prospect lists mean nothing. Just a hunch.

Or having exciting cost-effective talent means everything? Just a counter-hunch.

You seriously have no interest in seeing what these kids can do playing every day for the last 45 games? Isn't that a silver lining in an otherwise lost season? At least they have kids that are arguably ML ready.

The Twins JUST got something interesting for JR Murphy, who is awful.

This is the laziest firesale I've ever seen.

Well, it's possible these players to bnl are currently on the Brewers and Dodger 40 who would have to clear waivers and that could be the reason it has to wait till this waiver period ends. So that could mean both may be real players, tho unlikely impact players. Speculating.

Murphy isn't a fire sale. He's an investment. He's still on a rookie salary and has several years left. The closest comp to Murphy on the mets is probably Plawecki or TDA (not really but in the same general area).

What kids? It's Rosario and nobody else of consequence. Plawecki is a minor leaguer. Nimmo is a backup outfielder. Dominic Loney is simply not a 1st baseman in 2017 in Major League Baseball. Flores is 26 and has been here forever seemingly, not a kid. But he has made slow steady progress and the plate and is now a + hitter. Matt Reynolds is terrible.

All the productive veterans we traded away, we don't have the MLB ready kids to come up and replace them

This is a very depressing thread.....

We are now probably putting the worst NL team on the field...yes.

However, I personally will wait till February to make judgements.

Darn it, I want to win...we all want to win. Hopefully the Wilpons will want to win too....

Dom has go to start hitting. YES, he moves like a 50 year old, but if he can hit for average, we wont be b*tching. hopefully these kids can show us something

or else Sandy needs to go to. #BringBackOmarMinaya

I don't think giving Rivera away for nothing is a big deal. If the Cubs had offered us anything for him he'd have been traded 2 weeks ago. I doubt the mets held out for more for Rene Rivera.

As for worst NL team on the field. yeah. This very well may be the worst team in all of baseball right now. It'll help with the tank. :D

2018 is still up in the air though.

No kidding. Nimmo hits like a backup middle infielder. Cecchini won't play unless someone gets injured or Cabrera gets traded. Even then I'm not too excited about someone that put up much worse numbers in the PCL than Plawecki - who we have seen plenty of already. Flores and d'Aranud are seasoned vets. Reynolds, really? Are we all still hope a 28 year old Juan Lagares learns to hit or utilize his speed to maximize his value?

For me it's Rosario and Smith.

I won't even get into pitching.

There isn't a whole lot else to get excited about.
